Since LAMP Ministries
was established in 1981, it has gradually become
clear that a spirituality, a way of living the
Gospel, has evolved within the lives of the LAMP
Missionaries. It includes identifying the poor with
the suffering Jesus (Matt. 25). It has drawn us into
the beating Heart of Jesus as that Heart of
Compassion embracing those most in need. It also
encompasses Our Blessed Mother Mary’s role in the
Church and in our lives, clear unity with the Church
and a humble posture of prayer and service.
“The Spirit of
the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to
bring good news to the poor.” (Luke 4:18).
This passage, of Jesus beginning to describe His ministry, has been the inspiration of LAMP’s mission from which we receive our call to serve among the materially poor with the specific emphasis of sharing the Good News of Jesus.
We would like to invite you to enter into that spirituality, that call, with us, as you are able to do within your circumstances and state in life. It is a call from the Holy Spirit to grow in holiness, a way to live out LAMP’s special charism: “to bring the Good News to the poor”. The Catholic Church has officially affirmed LAMP’s charism by conferring the canonical status on LAMP of a “private association of Christian faithful”.
We invite you to share in the very grace of the Church itself through this call to be missionary with us.
We invite you to enter LAMP’s path to holiness with us by becoming a LAMP Missionary Associate.
Most people cannot serve full-time in LAMP Ministries and yet many feel one with its vision and mission. Now there is that possibility to participate in LAMP’s
grace within your own current situation with its
opportunities as well as its limitations.
We invite you, as a
LAMP Missionary Associate, to be an intercessor for
the poor we serve, and/or exercise your own
baptismal commission by being an evangelizer among
the poor, within your circumstances.
