There is no
question that these are times of great
trial. Not only are we in the midst of
troubles in our country and in the world,
but even our Church is suffering internally
in a way never seen by our generations. Are
you feeling overwhelmed by this? Please
know that we are with you in struggling
through this, but we must focus on Jesus,
our great High Priest whose heart well
understands our suffering.
 Recently,
our beloved Holy Father exhorted us by
saying that 'obstacles are nothing to
fear'. In addition, we can take deep
comfort in our Blessed Mother's Immaculate
Heart, overflowing with intercession and
care for us. Through her apparitions, she
too has exhorted us to fast and pray; not a
new message, but more urgent than ever. We
read in God's Word as spoken by the Prophet
Isaiah:
"Is not this
the sort of fast that pleases me
--it is the Lord Yahweh who speaks--
...to let the oppressed go free,
and break every yoke,
to share your bread with the hungry,
and shelter the homeless poor...
then your light will shine like the dawn..."
