Last year a LAMP
Missionary began to serve at a crisis
pregnancy
center in the South Bronx, which is located across
the street from an active abortion site. Through the
pulsing beating Heart of Jesus, three LAMP
Missionaries are spending significant time this year
visiting, counseling and praying with women
considering abo rtion.
94% of abortion centers
are located in poor neighborhoods. The abortion
industry draws on the vulnerabilities of the poor
and their temptation to think that life has very
little value. In always trying to find the poorest,
the weakest, those frequently outside the reach of
the Catholic Church, LAMP is making a new effort to
bring its mission of evangelization among the
materially poor to those struggling with life
issues.
Do you have a
compassionate heart for those most in need of
support to resist the temptations to abortion, or to
be healed after making choices against life? Through
LAMP, you can be on the front lines with the poor
confronting the crucial work among the poor. You can serve and live
with other like-minded missionaries in a supportive
faith community.
LAMP Missionaries receive ongoing training and
spiritual formation and enjoy the support of a
community of fellow ministers and associates. A
commitment of at least one year is sought; however,
the ideal length of commitment is at least two
years.
